The Dark side of Youth plus: Historical mishaps

The Dancing Plague of 1518 was a peculiar episode of dancing mania that unfolded in Strasbourg, Alsace (modern-day France), from July to September 1518.

During this period, hundreds of individuals engaged in continuous dancing for several weeks.

Numerous theories attempt to explain this phenomenon, with the most prominent one suggesting stress-induced mass hysteria. Religious explanations have also been proposed.
