Goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, both from set-pieces, secured the victory for Everton. This result leaves the Premier League title race as a two horse battle between Arsenal and Manchester City. Liverpool trails the Gunners by three points and holds just a one-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side, despite having played two more games. Everton’s victory almost certainly ensures that Merseyside derbies will continue to feature on the Premier League fixture list next season.
