Atalanta has triumphantly advanced to the Europa League final after a comprehensive 4-1 aggregate victory against Marseille, with the decisive match taking place at the Gewiss Stadium.

Ademola Lookman, the ex-Everton and Fulham player, was pivotal in the win, netting a goal at the 30-minute mark following a deflection that eluded the opposing goalkeeper, Pau Lopez, and found the net’s bottom corner. Matteo Ruggeri further solidified Atalanta’s lead with a powerful drive into the top corner right after halftime.

The victory was further embellished by El Bilal Toure, who scored in the dying moments of the match during injury time.

This win marks Atalanta’s historic progression to their first European competition final, where they will face the formidable Bayer Leverkusen, led by Xabi Alonso, at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on May 22.

Having previously eliminated Liverpool, Atalanta had ample opportunities to extend their lead in the first half but did not capitalize on them. In the end, Atalanta secured their third goal in stoppage time when Mali’s forward Toure delivered a superb shot past Lopez, sealing the win and their spot in the final.
