In the wake of a disappointing 4-0 loss to Uruguay, Mexico's national soccer team and its coach, Jimmy Lozano, find themselves under intense scrutiny just two weeks before the start of the Copa America tournament. The defeat has left wounds open for El Tri, prompting harsh criticism from various quarters, including Mexican soccer legend Luis Garcia.

Garcia, a prominent figure in Mexican soccer, did not mince his words when assessing Lozano's performance against Uruguay. He unequivocally stated, "This man is not qualified to be the coach of the National Team. This is all Jaime Lozano's fault, all of it. He doesn't know what to do when things get complicated, he doesn't know how to respond," during an interview with Azteca TV.

Adding to the criticism, David Medrano, Garcia's broadcasting partner, lambasted Lozano for his handling of the team during the match. "You had 15 minutes, you conceded three goals in the first half, and you didn't even make any significant changes to the team," he expressed indignantly.

Moreover, the dissatisfaction extended to the Mexican Football Federation, with Christian Martinoli highlighting the lack of understanding within the Federation. Martinoli remarked, "The directors of the Mexican Football Federation don't understand anything at all. They have a coach today in the national team because he is a good person. The Gold Cup was the one with which the Federation used to say that the Qatar disaster had been cleaned up."

With a crucial match against Brazil on the horizon as part of their Copa America preparations, Mexico faces an uncertain future. The upcoming game against Brazil will serve as the final opportunity for Lozano's team to make adjustments before their Copa America debut against Jamaica on June 22. Despite a narrow victory over Bolivia on June 1, the overall assessment remains a disappointment for El Tri.
