France struggled to secure a 3-0 win over Luxembourg.

France managed to secure a 3-0 victory over Luxembourg. Despite the win, the French team’s performance was marked by missed opportunities and a laborious display of dominance.

The match saw Kylian Mbappe , the new Real Madrid forward, open the scoring just before half-time. He assisted Randal Kolo Muani , who sent a header into the bottom corner, marking the first goal for Les Bleus. However, despite dominating possession, France struggled to capitalize on their control of the game.

Luxembourg, although considered underdogs, put up a strong defense, frustrating the French frontline throughout the first period. They managed to keep the score to a minimal one-goal deficit as they headed into half-time.

The French team, led by Dider Deschamp, saw plenty of the ball but had little to show for their efforts during the first hour of the match. It wasn’t until the final 20 minutes that France found some breathing space. Jonathan Clauss broke through the tension with a stunning shot from the edge of the box, taking the score to 2-0.

Despite being two goals down, Luxembourg didn’t back down. They continued to press and even hit the bar late in the game, coming within an inch of scoring against the World Cup finalists.

However, the last word was had by Mbappe. After missing several chances throughout the match, he finally found the back of the net, poking home Bradely Barcola's cross to seal the 3-0 victory for France.

While the win adds momentum to France’s Euro 2024 campaign, the match highlighted areas for improvement as they prepare to face tougher opponents in the tournament.
