Carlos Ancelotti appoints new captain amidst Nacho departure

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has named veteran midfielder Luka Modric as the new team captain, following the departure of Nacho Fernandez to Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsia, according to reports from COPE.

Nacho's exit comes after a remarkable career with Real Madrid, winning 26 trophies, including three European Cups, five Club World Cups, four European Super Cups, three LaLiga titles, two Copas del Rey, and four Spanish Super Cups.

Modric, a key player for Real Madrid, will be joined by Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez, who will assume the vice-captaincy roles. Despite the loss of Nacho and retiring Toni Kroos, Real Madrid retains a wealth of experience in their squad.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Real Madrid has bid farewell to their captain, following the departures of Marcelo, Karim Benzema, and Sergio Ramos in previous years.
