Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has shown his appreciation for the service of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the state by gifting each of them N100,000 as they depart the orientation camp. The governor made the announcement during the NYSC Passing-Out Parade/Closing Ceremony for the 2024 Batch 'B' Stream I Corps Members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja on Tuesday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the 4,254 corps members for their hard work and dedication, promising that the funds will be credited to their accounts by next week. Additionally, he pledged N5 billion towards the construction of a permanent site for the NYSC Orientation Camp in the state, marking a significant investment in the development of the program.

The governor also showed his appreciation for the NYSC support staff, announcing a sum of N100 million for their dedication and hard work. This gesture is a testament to the governor's commitment to supporting the youth and recognizing their contributions to the state's development.

The corps members, who have completed their orientation program, will receive the N100,000 token of appreciation as they prepare to embark on their primary assignments across the state. This initiative is expected to motivate and support the young graduates as they begin their service year.
