Former Hull City manager Liam Rosenior is in advanced talks to take over as head coach at Strasbourg, Chelsea's sister club. The French Ligue 1 side, owned by the BlueCo group, has been searching for a new coach since Patrick Vieira's surprise departure last month.
Rosenior, 39, has been out of work since his departure from Hull City in May, despite leading the team to a seventh-placed finish in the Championship. During his time at Hull, he was nominated for the Championship Manager of the Season award.
The former full-back enjoyed a 16-year playing career before transitioning into coaching. He began his coaching career at Brighton's academy and later joined Derby County's backroom staff before becoming interim manager in 2022. Rosenior was appointed head coach at Hull City later that year, but his tenure ended in May.
Strasbourg, who finished 13th in Ligue 1 last season, is looking to Rosenior to lead the team forward. The club's ownership by BlueCo, the same group that owns Chelsea, has sparked interest in the potential for collaboration and sharing of resources between the two teams.
If appointed, Rosenior will be tasked with building on Vieira's foundation and guiding Strasbourg towards success in Ligue 1. The move is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
