Dr. Fola David, a Nigerian doctor and visual artist, has made history by creating the world's largest drawing by an individual, surpassing the existing Guinness World Record. The massive artwork, titled "Unity in Diversity," spans an impressive 850 square meters, breaking the previous record of 629.98 square meters held by Ravi Soni from India.
Dr. David's record-breaking attempt began on July 16 and was completed on July 21 at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos. The artwork showcases the diverse ethnic groups of Nigeria through their unique attire, languages, culture, and artistic expressions.
Celebrities and dignitaries, including renowned Nigerian chef and GWR holder Hilda Baci and former presidential candidate Peter Obi, visited Dr. David at the stadium to offer their support and witness his artistic feat firsthand.
President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu congratulated Dr. David on his record-breaking achievement, describing it as a remarkable one that filled Nigerians with immense pride and admiration.
Dr. David's achievement is the latest in a series of record-breaking feats by Nigerians, including Oside 'Khoded' Oluwole's record for the longest time spent playing a video game and Owoyemi Qudus Adebayo's record for the fastest time to complete five skin fade haircuts.
Dr. David's artwork has been widely recognized, and he continues to push boundaries, inspiring others with his creativity and perseverance. His achievement is a testament to the talent and determination of Nigerians, and it is expected to inspire many more to attempt their own record-breaking feats.
