Hundreds of youths protest in Kano, Nigeria, marching towards Government House, demanding urgent action from the government, with some turning violent, prompting police intervention, amidst a heavy security presence.

Kano, Nigeria - A massive protest has brought the ancient city of Kano to a standstill, as hundreds of young demonstrators marched towards the Government House, demanding urgent action from the government. The protesters, mostly under 20, gathered in various neighborhoods, carrying placards and painting their bodies in different colors.

The demonstration turned violent in some areas, with teenage boys seen carrying dangerous weapons and shouting slogans. Security forces, including police, NSCDC, and DSS operatives, were deployed to strategic locations to maintain order.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf urged the protesters to remain peaceful and submit their demands, promising to personally deliver them to the president. However, the situation took a turn when protesters became wild and violent, prompting police to confiscate weapons and restrict access to certain areas.

The protesters' demands are yet to be disclosed, but the massive turnout and determination of the youths suggest a deep-seated frustration with the current state of affairs. The situation remains tense, with the potential for further escalation.
