The Take It Back Movement (TIB), a prominent organizer of the End Bad Governance nationwide protest, has announced a planned one-million-man protest for Saturday, August 10, across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. This announcement was made by Mr. Sanyaolu Juwon, the National Coordinator of TIB, in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja.

The protest is a significant escalation in the End Bad Governance in Nigeria campaign, which commenced on August 1, 2024. Originally intended as a 10-day demonstration, the campaign has evolved into a broad movement, uniting citizens from various walks of life both within Nigeria and among the diaspora.

Mr. Juwon emphasized the importance of the upcoming event, stating, "This monumental protest aims to draw attention to the pressing hardships faced by Nigerians at all levels and to hold the government accountable."

The ongoing protests have seen substantial participation, particularly in northern states, despite attempts to disrupt the events by criminal elements. President Bola Tinubu, in a recent nationwide broadcast, urged protesters to reconsider their actions and allow his administration more time to address the nation's challenges. Nevertheless, the protests have persisted in key cities, including Abuja and Kano, highlighting the determination of citizens to demand change.

The Take It Back Movement, collaborating with various organizations and activists, anticipates that the protest will mark a critical moment in Nigeria's ongoing struggle for good governance and accountability. As Saturday approaches, the movement calls on citizens to join in solidarity for a transformative impact across the nation.
